Explore your creative side with a visit to the Lakefront Art Festival. This outdoor art gallery, presented by Michigan City’s Lubeznik Center for the Arts, features beautiful one-of-a-kind local items for sale as well as incredible demonstrations by the artists. The Art Activity Tent even gives kids a chance to try their hand at painting a masterpiece or shaping their own pottery on the wheel.
Get wet on North America’s first artificial whitewater waterway. The East Race Waterway is a 1,900 foot long whitewater rafting course that runs right through the South Bend downtown. If you’d rather watch the action, there are plenty of great vantage points along The Waterway. Each summer, the East Race hosts national and world-class whitewater slalom races.
Find all the best parts of summer at the Marshall County Blueberry Festival. Live music. Great food—including lots of blueberry goodies. A great fireworks show. Sporting Events. Carnival rides. Hot air balloons. And a terrific Labor Day Parade. As they say, you come for the day and you leave with great memories. Possibly enough to last you until next summer.
