Head to the Taltree Arboretum for a Butterfly Hike or yoga in the pavilion, or to enjoy the summer concert series, Music in Nature. Join a night hike at Bailly Homestead in the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore where you’ll learn about the stars overhead.

Explore your creative side with a visit to the Lakefront Art Festival. This outdoor art gallery, presented by Michigan City’s Lubeznik Center for the Arts, features beautiful one-of-a-kind local items for sale as well as incredible demonstrations by the artists. The Art Activity Tent even gives kids a chance to try their hand at painting a masterpiece or shaping their own pottery on the wheel.

Get wet on North America’s first artificial whitewater waterway. The East Race Waterway is a 1,900 foot long whitewater rafting course that runs right through the South Bend downtown. If you’d rather watch the action, there are plenty of great vantage points along The Waterway. Each summer, the East Race hosts national and world-class whitewater slalom races.

Find all the best parts of summer at the Marshall County Blueberry Festival. Live music. Great food—including lots of blueberry goodies. A great fireworks show. Sporting Events. Carnival rides. Hot air balloons. And a terrific Labor Day Parade. As they say, you come for the day and you leave with great memories. Possibly enough to last you until next summer.

Don’t miss the Annual Amish Acres Arts & Crafts Festival in Nappanee. This festival welcomes over 300 artists and crafters from around the country. Live entertainment and scrumptious foods—everything from apple pie to zucchini bread—have helped to earn the festival the honor of being named one of Leisure Group Travel magazine’s Top 50 Outstanding Festivals and events.

Experience theatre in the round at the Wagon Wheel Theatre in Warsaw. Every summer—June through August—you can enjoy incredible musicals and theater productions in this unique venue where you’re never more than ten rows from center stage.

Hop on your bike, feel the breeze on your face and join in the Amishland & Lakes Bicycle Tour. Start from Howe and explore the Amish Backroads from a different perspective as you work your way through the beautiful countryside and quaint towns.
