Blueberry Festival, Plymouth

It’s the berries! This huge Labor Day weekend festival, a premier Midwest event, celebrates all things blueberry, a fruit that finds perfect growing conditions in Northern Indiana. More than 100 food booths serve up blueberry pie, blueberry ice cream, blueberry shakes, sundaes, donuts, cheesecake and just plain blueberries. Add more than 300 craft vendors, a wildly popular Blueberry Stop 5K/15K run, an antique car show, hot air balloon launches and all kinds of athletic events and you have the recipe for an unforgettable good time.

Local entertainers jam all weekend on three stages and there are lots of thrilling carnival rides, too. Bring your lawn chair and line up along Plymouth’s tree-lined streets to watch local bands, antique cars, Miss Blueberrry and her court and many other participants march in a parade that will make your feet tap and heat swell with true blue patriotism. A spectacular fireworks display wraps it up.
